MIRAGE

How do we interpret our image on a reflective surface? The mirror invites us to think, to reflect: the concentration of the spirit upon itself, its representations, ideas, and feelings. The base of this object, with its curves, suggests the dimension of a palpable body. The piece unfolds like a parabolic gesture, framing the image projected onto the cold glass, outlined in red like the circle of fire of life. The figural deviation and the double figuration resulting from the interaction of the body cause us both fascination and estrangement, creating optical effects like a mirage.
